This bright cottage sits between Ashintully Gardens (landscaped public gardens with winding brook, fountain, paths and hiking trails to the stunning ruins of Ashintully) and the McLennan Reservation on Round Mountain, 1000 acres of wooded hiking trails and the largest beaver dam in Berkshire County. The land abutting the cottage is under conservation restriction and there are plenty of places to hike and explore. You can hear the bells of a nearby monastery. Also very close to the Appalachian trail, several lakes and ponds, and the Tyringham Cobble, and a driveable distance from Bartholomew's Cobble, Monument Mountain, the Ice Glen, Bash Bish Falls, Beartown State Forest and Mt Greylock. Close to Lee with restaurants and outlet mall, and Lenox, Stockbridge, and Great Barrington. Twenty minute drive to Tanglewood Music Festival, Berkshire Theatre Festival, Jacobs Pillow, Shakespeare and Company, Chesterwood, The Mount, Naumkeg, the Norman Rockwell Museum, and more. An hour from the Hancock Shaker Village, Williamstown Theatre Festival, and Mass MOCA.

The Ashintully Cottage is magical. The house is small and simple but well equipped. The rooms are immaculate and charming, and the screened porch is just a perfect place to dine, read or look out at the lovely view. The cottage is located in the wonderful Tyringham valley, an enchanted setting reminiscent of Brigadoon. We spent many wonderful months there and might still be there if we hadn't purchased a place. We couldn't recommend it more highly.

The cottage has a special history and a perfect location in the extraordinarily beautiful Tyringham Valley, close to all the southern Berkshires have to offer. It is light-filled and airy, a well-equipped mix of old and new with ample beds for family and friends and cozy shared space. Jennifer was easy to reach and lovely to deal with. Highly recommended.

The Cottage: What a special place! Plenty of room for our 4 adults and 1 child. Every detail from the dishes and water glasses to the books and bed linens have been placed with a charming country esthetic in mind. We enjoyed cool days and nights so didn’t need the AC but was good to know it was there. Many games were available and we loved playing cards every evening on the back screened porch.
Location: It was a unique privilege to have access to the Ashintully Gardens and ruins. We hiked to the top several times each day and daydreamed about what it must have been like when the mansion was there. My husband and son hiked the Tyringham cobble and enjoyed it. We drove 25 to Tanglewood one evening for a Yo Yo Ma concert.
Next time we are in the Berkshires we will be definitely be back!

This adorable, brightly lit, airy cottage was charming, spotlessly clean, and well-outfitted for basic housekeeping. Although we were originally surprised at the proximity of the road, it is absolutely a non-issue. Despite the fact that we were staying over the fourth of July weekend, there was virtually no traffic whatsoever. We felt as though the endless acres visible from three sides of the house were ours alone. Our adult daughter visited from Boston and was as charmed as we were. Although I wouldn't normally comment on decor, there was something really special about this house. The floor of each room has been painted a different color of blue. There is white linen in the windows and antique furnishings throughout. It just makes you feel good. Standing at the kitchen window or sitting on the screened porch we saw goldfinches and bluebirds everyday. Walking down the road or in the Ashintully Gardens, wildflowers were in spectacular bloom. It really had a magical feeling about it. Jennifer was a great host, easy in and out access, perfect communication. Tyringham is the nicest town in Berkshire County in our opinion. Easy access to Tanglewood and Great Barrington. We plan to return.
